On December 8, 2009 the Simplex Company celebrated its 17th anniversary.
A year ago, on the Company’s 16th anniversary, Leonid Chistyakov, a member of the Supervising Board, said in his address to Company’s employees:
"I wish to all of us to live through the economic crisis with dignity, supporting each other and holding high Company's banner... I urge all of you to look into the future with optimism and see also the positive aspects of the crisis. Simplex is tougher than most of our competitors, and when they go bankrupt, their customers would come to us. For a long time there was a need to optimize our expenses, and now we have no other choice but to start doing it, let's go! In the time of our intensive growth we did not manage to do a lot of necessary things, now we could do them…”
This words turned out to be a kind of prediction. We took control of the retail and dealer network of one of our largest competitors. The Simplex Company started to introduce in its operations the principles of Lean Manufacturing. The portfolio of state orders increased significantly. For example, under a renovation programme implemented by the Moscow Government our windows have been installed in dozens of large apartment blocks.
During the last crisis year the Simplex Company adapted successfully to new market conditions and prepares for 2010, another difficult year, with confidence in its potential.
